Professional Accomplishments
Dr. Cortes has focused on minimally invasive surgery during his residency and post residency training. During his residency he published research to improve arthroscopic joint surgery. He also invented a patented stent to drain pericardial effusion that is placed using minimally invasive technique. After his residency he has continued to offer placement of this stent for qualified patients. While completing residency Dr. Cortes became certified in Biomedtrix total hip replacement.
